This ‘Change of Pace’ project was a design brief for a proposed arts and culture channel for ITV that required us to pick a name and design a logo, title sting and lower thirds – all turned around in a few days. My approach was to design something the felt young and accessible, focusing on music and contemporary culture.
The final presentation was made up of a quick video with music to give an idea of how all the graphics elements might work together. Everything was designed to work across multiple platforms including TV, social media, print and video on demand.
My concept was to have each colour represent a form of the arts, with a photo or illustrated pattern within the letter. This would then peal off to leave a minimalist version of logo which can be used as a watermark over broadcast footage. This colour code system would then be carried across to the menu system when used on devices and video on demand.
A fast turnaround project and an opportunity to try out some our first lessons in After Effects animation. It also represented a lesson in pitching a design idea to a group and presenting proof of concept.
